GOALS AND GOVERNING PRINCIPLES

Artemis Bank Information Systems Ltd (Artemis) is a Credit Bureau set up in October 2008. Its mission is to collect, maintain and make available information on a database concerning the economic behaviour of businesses and individuals, on behalf of Banks and Institutions whose core business is to provide loans or other credit facilities to the public.

Company Goals

To the best interest of the Banking System and of all interested parties, Artemis main goals are:

• To support financial operations related to the enhancement, modernization and evolution of the Banking System
• To safeguard commercial credit
• To mitigate credit risk
• To support reliable transactions
• To promote a smooth economic environment

In order to achieve the above goals, Artemis has developed, maintains and manages a Database regarding economic behaviour (‘Database’).

Company Governing Principles

Artemis recognises fully the importance of its mission and the responsibility undertaken in safeguarding the public interest; according to the Processing of Personal Data (Protection of Individuals) Law 138(I) 2001 Artemis is aligning its operation with the following strict guiding principles:

• Full transparency in all Database operations procedures and full adherence to these procedures with no deviations.
•  Full assurance of the objectivity of the Database and adherence to strict security mechanisms in controlling access to it.
• Respect and Protection of Individual Rights and provision of all possible assistance to interested parties for exercising their rights as defined by law regarding personal data.
• Adherence to and implementation of all relevant decisions of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection and the provisions of the Processing of Personal Data (Protection of Individuals) Law 138(I) 2001.
• The role of the Data in the Database is supplementary since Artemis does not make valuations, judgements or any other assessment of the information. All such evaluation is performed exclusively by the information recipient.

Our Vision

Our Vision is the minimization of credit facilities' provision to insolvent bank clients and the training of the general public for the proper management of credit facilities.

Affiliations

Artemis is a member of the Association of Consumer Credit Information Suppliers (ACCIS). The Association is based in Brussels and is recognised as the representative body of the Credit Bureaus in the European Union.
