Categories and Sources of Data
Artemis maintains a Database which documents exclusively the economic behaviour of physical / legal and other groups of persons and it comprises the following categories of information:
- Legal Actions and Court Decisions concerning credit facilities, which are collected from banks and institutions whose main course of business is to provide loans or other credit facilities to the public.
- Entries for the issuers of Dishonoured Cheques which are collected from the Management Committee of the Central Information Registry (CIR).
- Bankruptcies and applications for bankruptcies which are obtained from the Department of Registrar of Companies and Official Receiver.
- Dissolutions and applications to dissolutions of companies which are obtained from the Department of Registrar of Companies and Official Receiver.
Data Retention Period
Artemis proceeded with the following escalation regarding the retention period of its Database information:
- Database information, for Legal Actions and Court Decisions for Owners, is deleted after five (5) years from settlement date of the respective Legal Action and/or Court Decision.
- Database information, for Court Decisions for Guarantors, is deleted after twelve (12) months from settlement date of the respective Court Decision.
- Information about the issuers of Dishonoured Cheques is deleted from Artemis Database according to the Rules / Procedures set up by the Management Committee of Central Information Registry (CIR).
- Information about Bankruptcies / Dissolutions and applications of Bankruptcies / Dissolutions is kept on the Database according to the Regulations set up by the Registrar of Companies and Official Receiver.
The recipients of information are the following:
- Banks supervised by the Central Bank of Cyprus or from other Central Banks according to the Directive 2006/48/EC or banks which operate in the Republic of Cyprus, according to the Freedom of Establishment.
- Institutions whose core business is to provide loans or other credit facilities to the public.
